Robert M. Jonas
Robert M. Jonas is a member of the California State Bar Association, Los Angeles County Bar Association, and the South Bay Bar Association.
Mr. Jonas grew up as one of 13 children in the mid west. He was admitted to the State Bar of California in 1972. Initially he practiced law with a focus in civil and business litigation, but for the past 20 years he has practiced family law exclusively.
While building a busy practice Mr. Jonas made time to serve the community in a variety of ways. He served as the President of the Manhattan Beach Chamber of Commerce, as the President of the Manhattan Beach Coordinating Council, and has served on the Commission for Educational Goals and Environmental Commission. He started the Manhattan Beach Home Town Fair, volunteered as a little league and soccer coach. He was also active with the Boy Scouts, the YMCA, and was on the board for the Cancer Foundation at South Bay Hospitals. Mr. Jonas served two terms as President of Rolling Hills Caballeros, and as a board member and manager of the World Championship Team Penning Association Finals.
Coming from a poor family Mr. Jonas believes that in all legal matters everyone’s money should be spent wisely. A great emphasis of his practice involves mediation, where working things out amicably is favored over costly litigation. Mr. Jonas is certified in Collaborative Law, and has served as Mediator for the Los Angeles Superior Court Family Department, as well as served numerous times as a Judge Pro Tempore of the Superior Court.
Though Mr. Jonas has successfully represented family law judges, celebrities, CEO’s of major corporations, and many clients with a net worth in excess of $100 million, he recognizes that every case is equally important to the individuals involved regardless of the complexity of the matter.
Mr. Jonas has received recognition as an outstanding citizen from many political figures, including former Governor Ronald Regan.
Mr. Jonas believes that family law matters should not be complicated and that only the personality of the people involved make things complicated.
His country style with city sophistication has made him a tenacious trial lawyer, which usually leads to a prompt settlement.
Ken Harvey
After graduating from the Santa Clara University School of Law, Mr. Harvey has been providing legal services to the South Bay community since 1973. While his practice has emphasized family law, he gained experience in virtually all facets of the law including contracts, corporations, business law, real estate, landlord/tenant law, criminal law and personal injury. This general practice provides Mr. Harvey with the experience to deal with the various issues that may come up in a family law matter.
Since 1997, Mr. Harvey has exclusively practiced in the family law area which has included child custody matters, child and spousal support matters, property division, paternity cases, premarital agreements and post-nuptial agreements.
Mr. Harvey successfully represented a party before the California Court of Appeals, and that case has been recognized by a leading family law lecturer as one of the top 40 family law cases in California.
Mr. Harvey is a member of the South Bay Bar Association, the California State Bar and is a member of the Family Law Section of the California State Bar. He has taken a special course so that he can provide services as a Collaborative Attorney in family law matters. He has served as a Judge Pro Tem for the Los Angeles County Superior Court, and continues to volunteer his time as a family law mediator in the Torrance, CA, courthouse. He has served as a private mediator and as a private Judge Pro Tem.
Rob Keese
In 2007, Mr. Keese joined Robert Jonas and Kenneth Harvey to form the law firm of Jonas, Harvey and Keese.
Mr. Keese is a member of the California State Bar Association and the South Bay Bar Association.
